The Academic Medical Center of Amsterdam is the first hospital in the Netherlands to qualify all surgeons-in-training competent on the 'Simendo' laparoscopic training simulator.
This means, that a qualified and certified level-of-skill is guaranteed before surgeons in training embark on operating on live patients.
SIMENDO is a laparoscopic training environment that is extensively tested and proven valid for training surgeons in basic level-of-skill in laparoscopic surgery. Dependent on the level of expertise of the surgeon-in-training and the complexity of the individual patient case, the resident may now embark on live surgery under supervision. This is a big step forwards in terms of qualified level of care.
The AMC is the first hospital in the Netherlands to comply to the regulations of the Dutch Health Inspectorate in terms of laparoscopic training. |
