The Dutch Society for Simulation in Healthcare (DSSH) hosts its annual Congress on the 28^th of March 2012. 

This year,the Congress Organization has chosen a format with interactive, intimate workshops. Hands-on it is, for real! A day full of immersive experiences with innovations in Healthcare and among fellow enthusiasts. A variety of themes in Simulation and Serious Gaming have been selected. Is there a better way to get-to-know the latest in modern healthcare education using Simulation and Serious Gaming?  Innovaties in the area of Simulation and Serious Gaming, commercially available or in end-stage of development, -you won't see together anywhere else!

Important, especially when referring to the recent Convenant 'Veilige toepassing van medische technologie in het ziekenhuis' ('Safe use of medical technology in the Hospital') as presented to our Minister. In this document, it is stated that technology used in hospitals and health care facilites must be safe, and patient safety in these environments must be assured in every possible way.  

In her reaction, The Dutch Minister of Health states that it needs to be explored, how patient safety and skills-demands for users of health care technologies and innovations can be secured. Health care professionals must show to be competent, before they may actually engage in activities that may be harmful to patients. She stresses the need for tailored educational scenarios on skillsdevelopment for use of medical innovations and -environments.

 The DSSH Congress this year is therefore themed: ‘Hands-ON!’

*workshops are hosted by Dutch presenters. However, as most are fluent in English and workshops are intimate, English-speaking delegates are very welcome!

This year, you will actually participate in all the workshops, e.g. you do not have to choose from the programme!. Due to the intimate, hands-on concept of this Congress there is limited availablity of places for delegates. Therefore, we strongly suggest you to suscribe early to the Congress because subscriptions are honoured on a first come-first in principle. As of 08:30 we hope to welcome you at the Congress Venue 'Jaarbeurs' in Utrecht. 

The Congress will be held at together with our event-partner ‘Care and ICT’ in the Congress venue Jaarbeurs, centrally located in the city of Utrecht, the Netherlands. Ofcourse, the programme allows for a visit to this event as well.  Accreditation for Dutch Healthcare Professionals is obtained with the Accreditation Agency (Bureau Algemene Nascholing medische Beroepsverenigen ABON). 

The congress programme is confirmed, however, the DSSH reserves the right to adjust the programme in any unforeseen event.
